I think some mumsnetters said they had used these before.

Their prices are certainly cheaper than other suppliers and fitters but dp found some bad feedback on the internet about how you have to check every single measurement otherwise they charge you even if it doesn't fit your kitchen. Shock

Can anyone say if they have used them before, and if you don't recommend Diapol, who else would you recommend?

Hi
We used them about 4 years ago, and we were really pleased with them, the price was great, and the granite was just as good as any other we had seen.
My experience was almost opposite to that your husband has seen on the website. We had an issue as the first shipment of granite got cracked - but they were more than happy to replace and bent over backwards to give us good service. Maybe they have changed but we were delighted!!

Thanks, that's good to know. There's a kitchen fitter across the road from us but they are so much more expensive (about half as much again) and it's hard to decide between them and Diapol. I rather suspect dp will stand his ground and want to go for the expensive option as he doesn't like the idea of cut-price deals if there's a risk of it all going wrong.

We used them and they came and did the measuring and the fitting... Didn't have a problem with either

We used Diapol a few years ago. They came and measured themselves then fitted the granite a few weeks later. They were very good and very reasonably priced.

HFD I posted a couple of weeks ago about this I think - My builder used Diapol for his granite and liked them. I did though go and see a place up in Bedford last week called Cargo Granite (easy to find on line) . You can go in their showroom and see large slabs of most granites you can think of which really helps with choice if you're unsure - but the guy I dealt with was very helpful and not at all pushy. Their prices are almost the same as Diapol (give or take £2 - 300) - the only difference being that the granite is cut in the factory behind the showroom rather than it being made somewhere in the eastern bloc overseas and shipped over. The agent from Diapol was certainly very quick to come back to me and helpful too. .
