Do you do edges with brush first then roller the wall or other way round ? About to embark on dd's room !

and which order and direction to go in. I'm finding contradictory info - away from the window, bands or patches ?

I usually do this order:- Cut in around edges with a brush.then roller one coat.then undercoat skirtings and woodwork with one coat.then roller second coat on walls and finally eggshell the woodwork HTH

Thanks, hadn't banked on 2 coats being needed but it looks patchy (lilac over magnolia) so it may take rather longer than anticipated ! Hopefully I can edge one wall while the opposite one is drying.
