Just got a quote for decorating, and want to find out if it's reasonable or not (baby due two days ago, so really don't want to run around get loads of comparative quotes). The decorator comes highly recommended, so I've no doubt he'd do a good job.
Quote is for decorating:
- 1 (v small) ensuite bathroom
- 1 double bedroom
- hall, stairs and landing (3 floor house, so 2 flights of stairs - though only one landing)
- quote includes 10 doors (most both sides, as they are brand new doors and are only primed at the moment)
The quote covers walls, ceiling and woodwork - but because the job is a new loft conversion, over half of it (the bed, bath, one flight of stairs and the landing ceiling) is brand new - so bare plaster on ceilings/walls and bare wood on cupboards, skirting, banisters etc (the new room doors are pre-primed).
The cost he's given me is £2,500 excluding paint. I live in the SE but outside London.
How does this measure up?
Thanks.
