kitchen installation costs

Just wondering if this quote is reasonable or not. We have a kitchen, 11 x 11. We've been quoted 3K for the plastering and decoration and 1.5K for the installation of the kitchen. This quote came from the team that is currently doing the rest of the house so it would be nice to just use them, but on the other hand, this seems about twice as much as I would have expected. But I'm always under-estimating these things.

Still, for the kitchen install, we are getting units delivered that will already be built up - 4 base units and 2 wall units. The worktops will be granite and so the supplier will fit.

I would have thought it was a couple of days work but what do you all think? I'm in South London, by the way...

cant comment on hte plastering but hte instal seems v v reasonable to me. we are paying just under that outside london for a much bigger room and we nearly fell over ourselves it was so cheap (compared to 2 other quotes of £10k)

£1500 for installation seems good - if you went to Homebase they'd charge about £4k! (Though that includes the granite fitting it still seems high). We're paying about the same in the South for kitchen rip out and install, 12m x 12m, not including worktops and plastering. (Our plastering is just the making good where the old tiles come off so will "only" be about £300 for a day's work)

Seems a little high, but I'm bearish. If they are doing a good job on the rest of the house you could ask that they sweeten the deal by moderating their quote a little

Seems very reasonable to me - esp for London. We just paid just under £2k for ours - - plus an extra £800 for electrics. This was much cheaper than other quotes we had from Homebase and the likes, as well as other local fitters.
