Decorating son's bedroom - any exciting suggestions for what to put in it?

ds is 6. He's chosen fabric for duvet and curtains, which is stripey/piratey themed. Are there any cool things you've found for boys' bedrooms to make them that extra bit special, or things which your boys have loved having in their rooms?

are you arty? I have painted loads of murals on the dcs walls - what about some port holes with fish peering in? Or an octopus lurking under his bed? DS1 has a rope ladder leading to a hole in the ceiling at the moment.

I saw a cool stool/seat in the shape of a ship's funnel, a lovely bookcase shaped as a rowing boat standing up -if you get me - and some nice nautical/piratey stuff in an old Country Living magazine. I will try and find the issue to see if you can get it online.Spensive though.

How about a net suspended from the ceiling with rubber lobsters etc in? A storage trunk like a treasure chest? Come and visit me, in Devon all the pound/touristy shops have everything pirate themed: I could prolly get you a pirate loo brush if I looked
