My Aunty has a lovely freestanding screen in her bay window - lets some light in but stops people peering in off the street! A large house plant/s in the window might be a good distraction too?

i once had a window like this and i hung beads down it on some clear thread looked great enjoyed doing it in the evening once the kids went to bed!tip hear is to use quite alot of clear ones by tying a knot under neath. Gives your window the designer touch everyone wanted to know where i bought it from.

kittycat, that sounds like a great idea, i love making things for the house. dh prob will not like it, but i may try it anyway. mintyfresh, sounds good but the "bay" starts 1/4 way up the wall, with deep window ledge so freestandind screen wont work.thanks, more ideas please

I saw a curved bay yesterday which had wooden roman blinds, presumably five short width ones.

Or how about self-adhesive film? You can get nice cut outs I think ... someone I know jazzed up a cabinet with glass doors this way, made them look etched when they actually weren't.

you can get pull up blinds like this. they are fixed on top and bottom and you can just pull them up as much as you need to stop people looking in but still get the light from the top of the window. maybe if you fix a few, they go better with the curve of the window and you can pull them up as needen individually.
