Company that sells cheap returned goods

I remember reading on MN about a company who sold cheap returned goods which still have guarantee but may have damaged box, slight scratch, etc. I am pretty sure it had 'John' in the name.

I am after cooker and washing machine.

Does anyone know the name of the company?

The one I've used (very happily) is Roy Waring South. They're mostly unboxed, rather than returns, and all the appliances I had from them have been perfect (and a bargain).

I kept the Money section from last week's Sunday Times because it had the following information:

Comet has relaunched it's auction site ClearanceComet It seems to run pretty much like eBay.

i've used the comet auction website several times and have been happy with it

We had a v. bad experience with Comet auction site - bought a dishwasher which was not only far, far more damaged than was described, but had obviously been used a fair bit previously as there was manky bits of food all over the inside of the door
