I know Crosswater are more expensive but our budget is looking tight and although the bathroom man slated hudson reed saying they were cheap chinese rubbish I'd love to hear what someone else has to say !

Heard good things.... But Bristan? Good brit company,

SparkyUK · 29/07/2010 15:39

our local bathroom store say they refuse to stock bristan and that the number one question they get asked is people coming in looking for spares for repairs...

INteresting - I was told by a friend I've just been with that her plumber told her to buy Bristan.....oh soooo confused now !!

Oh dear. Steer clear then! I have just bought a crosswater Mike lever basin monobloc. Significantly more than my Vitra sink!

I have used bristan a lot and never had any problems.I bought one really expensive tap for my last bathroom and it was outlasted by a £50 one from ikea!

We have both crosswater and hudson reed and both are equally good. they key apparently is something to do with the copper inner as opposed to plastic on some other cheaper brands

I should add that some friends have the bristan 1910 monobloc basin tap in their downstairs loo and i really like it, which is why I had asked for it at the bath shop. They've had it for a year and a half and not had any problems.
