We currently rent a 2 bed house in a fab location - but we have 2 children boy aged 8 and lil girl 2. currently we share with daughter- not great but the room is huge 5x8 at least. our problem is this house next door is avail for us to let is bigger - but has two vital issues - only two bedrooms upstairs and a very small box room downstairs i mean small 230 cm by 240 cm - no joke - 8year old would have to have this as main bedroom. also is £75 per month more than current rent. please give me opinions please ? we have to sign contracts tomorrow ????

Can you stay put and divide your large bedroom for the children and have a smaller bedroom for yourselves.

Failing that I would put the 2 year old in the box room downstairs, should you decide to move.

cant really put our 2 yr old downstais as its so far from us and if she woke in the night she would panic, plus think 8 yr old is bit more responsible so theory goes!

thought bout spliting big room but thats is not ok in respect to our tenancy.
Am at a loss, as cant go on sharing room but on another note cant really let 8 yr old old live in a cuboard despite it being very harry potter esk!

If your current house is too small, surely you need to look at other places to rent. Next door isn't your only other option - aren't there other houses on the rental market in your locality?

I think your 2 year old would be fine - and probably get used to sleeping through - though the nosie downstairs would be hard for either once they have gone to bed you need to be quite ifyou are also down stairs.

I would put the two children in the larger room and have the samller room and privacey
the big room you could get a folding screen to divide of the room as such

Or a curtain pole if you were allowed to put on through the middle of the room
