Landlords buildings insurance

herethereandeverywhere · 21/07/2010 11:51

We're about to move out of our flat but retain the freehold title to the block (2 flats). We'll need to change our buildings insurance to a specialist landlords policy which normal domestic insurers (like Hiscox) don't do.

Please could any landlords out there recommend a good insurer? So far Hiscox have recommended Lark Insurance. Any good? Any others?

Thanks

this site will give you quotes for LI from a range of insurers :
www.simplybusiness.co.uk/
We bought LI via this site a few years ago and they were fine. Can't remember who it was with though! HTH

I had Letsure but then due to a change of underwriter they became ridiculously expensive; a 30% rise in premium after 1 year, and no claims whatsoever made, so we are now with Aviva, whose rates have been within £450 for the last 3 years.

We too use simply business, different companies every year, but very competative prices.

I use simple landlords insurance; they have usually been best prices.
