A non-yellow cream paint colour - any recommendations?

Our bedroom is currently painted Magnolia. It looks very yellowy and I want to re-paint with a nicer cream.

Something still light but with more sort of stoney coloured tones rather than yellow. This is ridiculous I know.

Went to B&Q today and tried out Almond White (Dulux) and Rice Cake (B&Q) and I am not convinced. Maybe Almond White but it still seems yellowy.

Any recommendations? Its a large room and we are concious of cost so I think Farrow and Ball and the like are probably too expensive. We usually use B&Q paint but can get to Homebase, Wickes and Focus.

I would recommend Natural Hessien. I have it in my kitchen. Then I put it in my front room as I loved it so much. Would look very nice with the cookie dough and is more or a stoney colour than a yellow.

I really wanted to like rice cake but it just seems as yellow as magnolia - is it different when on the walls? We have white woodwork and white furniture actually.

cream white by crown or antique cream by dulux.

I like the 'Mellow Mocha' that dulux suggest - we have similar in kitchen and had it in master bed at last house

Natural Hessian is by Dulux.

I'm raising my hand for Almond White.

I've had all shades of white and this is the one I've stuck with.

AlouiseG - everyone recommended Almond White to me and my parents have it in their house and it looks lovely there, but to me it is just not right, which is annoying!!

Homebase Putty is very nice - may be darker than you're looking for but in our large bright kitchen it comes out a cool cream.

natural calico - dulux. doesn't look yellow in any light.

We've just painted our not so bright kitchen and playroom Natural Calico - Dulux. It does look lovely and definitely cream as we didn't want anything too yellowy either. HTH

No tester pots for natural calico or antique cream. Grr.

We also got barely oyster by Dulux and wheatgrass by Crown which seem to be what we are looking for.

Also hardly any B&Q own brand testers, very frustrating!

Another vote for natural calico (Dulux) - not at all yellow, slightly greyish, stoney, cream!

we had the same problem now our house is painted i tusk tusk by dulux it's more pinky based and much nicer but still quite white

Yup - more Natural Calico and Natural Hessian votes here - have the first in our kitchen, and the latter in the hall/living room.

Natural Heessian too dark? Its very light, to the point in some lights it looks more cream than stone, but that just does depend on the lighting.

I like natural hessian too. My parents and a friend have it in their living rooms and it
looks lovely however I tried it in my hall which is quite dark and it looked awful. I think if you have a nice light space then it will look lovely.

Have you tried Laura Ashley? Their pale linen is nice. Their paint gives a lovely finish. They have a sale in at the mo too

Ok well I have bought about 4 billion testers and we are definately settled on Almost Oyster by Dulux. Its def cream but very much a stoney/greyey cream.

Natural hessian was more of a stoney colour rather than a cream which is why we discounted it. Also tried B&Qs light coffee and sandstone which were very similar to natural hessian.

Tried natural calico but it looked too similar to the magnolia we already have on the walls so not for us.
