Anyone who has recently had a new kitchen who can advise??? have Howdens and Wickes coming over late in the week to draw up a kitchen design but I am so torn between forking out for a double oven range (Johnlewis own probably £1000) or getting a black glass gas hob with 5 rings.. with the Wok ring and getting a built in double electric oven... HELP Im going round in circles.. anyone who has one or the other who can comment??

it is me again!

i went for a built in double oven- well that is not quite true- i had a built in single oven and had an oven/grill/microwave on top. It was a lot of money ( about £1200 in all). However- it saved work top space as no separate microwave and created cupboard space- room for large drawers under the hob to store all pans. depends whether you are short of floor space really.

black glass hob is very nice! i had a big black american style fridge ( changed it at last minute from steel- couldnt bear all the finger marks- they still show a bit but not as infuriating!) it ties it all together

We have just had new kitchen and gone for stack with double oven and microwave, and separate 90cm 5 ring induction hob. I love it!

Personally I've never been a gas or a range 'person' - too many fiddly bits to clean! The new induction hobs are so amazingly touch sensitive - just as good as gas, if not better.

My friend just recently had a new Aga range cooker (at £££ cost) and was to discover that it didn't have a timer!!

I've just had a Wickes kitchen and a 900mm Rangemaster kitchener in black, which I love.2 of my friends have had the same range and both of them love theirs too.

We got rid of our 90cm rangemaster and now on a 1000 range cooker. I love it.

i ve got a 1000 black range cooker, its great and we are a family of 6, my kitchen is classic cream shaker so traditional cooker suits it best,ps i have no white goods in there either ,they are all in the utility room so my kitchen looks streamline and proper shaker style.what kitchen are you going to have?modern? classic?my choice of cooker was made on the style of my kitchen but i love it.

Id say Classic.. not oldyworldy traditional but not ultra modern by any means. our house is redbrick victorian if that helps.. I think Im going for the 90cm range, but the more modern looking one like the dark grey rangemaster toledo or the john lewis one.. its SO hard!!!.. but am changing my mind daily at the moment...
