If DS and DD have to share how do I decorate the room?

We're stuck in a tiny 2 bed house for the forseeable so at some point in the very near future will be moving DDs cot into DS's room - currently blue for boys.

So how do I decorate the (small) room to suit both?

Any ideas welcome!

Both sound lovely - liking the idea of white walls as have a shed load of white paint already!

Im going to put DD in DS's room soon we've bought the paint already. Turquoise and yellow. (sounds awful but does look good, honest!)

I'd go for white walls and then accessorise with bedding for each child. We have two DDs but their rooms are off-white (driftwood from Homebase) and while DD1 has girly vintage/patchwork pinks, blues and greens DD2 has more Scandinavian/retro blues, greens and greys.
