Frozen, Tescos. £4.50 for a bag of 6 fillets. Use by March 2011.

Has an MSC label. 'Wild caught in the Pacific'

Slightly less encouragingly (and less eco-friendly) 'produced and pack in China'

Anyway. I have invested in 6 bags to keep my kids happy (they love salmon and I don't buy it much any more since sophable and mr sophable's Waitrose moment). And now I've bought mine, I can spill the beans

£4.50 though. For 6. It is criminal not to buy it. And no, I don't work for the Cohen family. As well you know.

Ah well. I will live and learn then.
if it is shite I will just cover it in chilli and sesame oil and the kids will never know.

i have had some nice frozen salmon from tesco in the past. i dont buy fresh in my local store anymore as i discovered about 20 bags of the fresh salmon frozen and defrosting in the fridge. i told the fish dept guy and he just shrugged and said they were often frozen. i told him i had been buying fresh taking a couple out to eat fresh and freezing the rest as it says freezable. but it shouldnt be frozen twice.
