Supermarket comparision sites? Somebody please help!

I was about to do my online shop and thought I would try one of the comparison websites. So went onto my supermarket.co.uk

I THOUGHT the point was you did your shopping mutually, ie with no store in particular and it told you at the end which supermarket would work out cheaper?

But when I went on there, you seem to have to choose a supermarket anyway, so you might as well of just gone on the supermarkets own website?

I am really confused now! But need to do my shopping tonight and as cheap as possible!

Can anybody enliten me?

No, you pick your supermarket to start with, then at the end it tells you what the cost is with the others in case you want to switch. It will also tell you about cheaper alternatives with your original supermarket (eg if something's on special offer).

It's really good - I'd forgotten about it actually!

Can you still use online codes if you do it throught there? Like free delivery etc?

Yes, because once you've done your order it redirects you to the supermarket's own site, and carries your order through for you to pay and enter any codes.
