Thanks for that. I've never shopped in Lidl's before, are these available at all stores or only the larger ones?

The wooden toy chest looks good too.

So glad you posted that as they will also be doing the stainless steel kids cutlery. I've been desperate for them to get these back in since my dishwasher ruined the last lot (well since I forgot to put the lid back on the salt drawer )

funnypeculiar · 08/02/2008 22:41

excellent - WILL make my first lidl shop for that

I really want one too, but aren't they quite tiny? I think the whole unit is barely 2 ft wide and the baskets maybe 5 inches wide? You think they'd still be useful for toys? I'm trying to decide if it would be worthwhile or not. My husband thinks it's too small for the price, but the same size in Argos is 20 quid. So seems a good price.

horsemadgal · 14/02/2008 12:05

Did anyone get one?
I didn't get it as thought would be tiny too.
Just wondered what it was like built?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 14/02/2008 13:28

I actually did just go and get one at Lidl, even though my husband was thinking it was too small to be useful! However, he's just put it together and it seems bigger than I imagined it would be. I'm yet to sort out the toy box and get it organised, but I think it's good value for money and looks like it will hold a good amount of toys. Obviously not huge toys, but fairly decent sized books even. So yeah, better than I thought!

eleanorsmum · 14/02/2008 13:41

i got one too, was there at 8! how sad am I! straight home and put tog. it's fab! escellent for my cm work - self selection toys are loved by ofsted
was in a rush so didn't look at the others things. did buy the farm so will have to see what that's like too!

horsemadgal · 14/02/2008 14:02

OO fab, I might pop back then.
I almost bought the farm, it looks fab. But as DS already has a farm I thought I'd better not. They also had stables/horses which looked great.

outinthesticksmummy · 14/02/2008 20:07

i bought mine, DD had great fun helping to build it. Think its a great size! plenty big enough. All her teddies are asleep in it tonight!

anyone fancy measuring the storage boxes for me please?

i'd be hugely grateful!

are the boxes wooden too?

Thanks!

(wonder if there'll be any left tomorrow...)

southeastastra · 14/02/2008 20:12

i have a lidl round the corner and hardly go in there. that's bad isn't it

outinthesticksmummy · 14/02/2008 20:24

Would measure them but its in my DDs bedroom, basically they are shoeboxed size. There are 9 boxes and they are canvas material with reinforced bottoms, very brightly coloured. When i bought mine this afternoon there were only a couple left!! I would get there for 8 if you want one!

Will measure in the morning for you and post

did they have boy type colours - don't think ds would be too impressed with bright pink!
