Boots gift vouchers

I am in a pickle and need some help

I purchased a gift card for my mother for her birthday late and I don't want her to know this. The voucher I got for her from Boots comes with a Gift Card Balance Receipt and it says it needs to be given with the gift card.

The trouble is it has the purchase date on it.

Can the Boots gift card be used without the Gift Card Balance Receipt?

Just checked with DP who works at boots - no need to take the receipt to use the gift card - and if there was any doubt as to the balance boots can do a balance enquiry

If keep the receipt in case she lost the gift card. I lost a white stuff one. And my mum threw the receipt away. They said if I had the receipt then they could have given me another or checked it on system
