Sorry, mumsnet has got this wrong. Anyone 59 or less won't get their pension until they're nearly 67. Now, we all know increased life expectancy and the UK economy needs pension readjustment but it means losing around £33000 over those 6 years - and it was brought in for women so fast they had no time to compensate by saving more. And they would have had to put by over £5000 a year (or £8000 pre tax) to compensate at a generous 2% level. How many of us could have done that?
