boohoo 20% off orders does not work for me

when i try and input this offer at Boohoo's checkout it just says 'Conditions for promotion code usage not met'...is this because you have to spend a minimum amount first? ( I had bought one item for £12) i was sent this offer on an email from Mumsnet and it didn't specify there about having to spend a minimum amount.
