Why are Nectar points SUCH bad value?

I got a thing through the post from Homebase - "your current balance is 12022, that's worth £60.11" Hmm

It would be worth £360 in Clubcard deals!!!!

I've traded some in for wine when they were worth double, but that seems to be as good as it gets. I think once I've used the ones I've got I won't bother saving them again (that'll fox Sainsburys Grin)

You're so right- it's taken me about 6 years to save up £90 worth of points! I went online to exchange them for travel vouchers at the weekend only to be told that Nectar cancelled my card a year ago because I didn't use it enough. Apparently they're allowed to do that because it's in their terms and conditions- which I suppose is fair enough.
However, what really winds me up is the fact that since they cancelled my card, they have been displaying and updating my points on receipts and giving me Nectar vouchers every time I shop at Sainsburys. When I asked Nectar how they could justify incentivising me to shop in Sainburys when they'd cancelled my card ages ago, they told me that printing and updating my balance on my receipt was not intended to incentivise me to shop at Sainsburys! So frustrated, don't know whether to scream or laugh... Angry

I just convert them into amazon vouchers to buy presents for parties, I know it's not doubling them or anything but still helpful
