Have you looked at Norfolkline, they can be cheaper depending when you want to go.

Sorry, forgot to say they go to Dunkirk which helps/makes things worse depending on where you are going.

No problem going to Dunkirk, only 20 mins from Calsis and straight out of port to autoroute, we did this in june for £36 return might be a bit more than that now but should still be cheaper.
