Nurturing schools in Chippenham/Bath area

Hi all,

I'm asking this for a friend of mine - I don't know the area at all. Her child (11) has been through significant trauma. She suffers from PTSD and anxiety and has been unable to attend school consistently for several years. She wanted to start secondary school but stopped attending after 3 weeks. This was a local state secondary.

My friend had previously tried her in a private primary school in the local area but it was too academic and too pushy for her - she really does need a very, very low pressure environment.

She is bright but has significant gaps in her learning. She is very sociable and a really nice kid. Does anyone know of a SUPER nurturing, small private school in the area that might be able to meet her needs? Money is not an issue.

Thanks so much lovely Mumsnetters.

The Lumiar School might be worth a look, it's whole premise is around nuturing the child and it has very small class sizes. They have extended into a secondary provision and are going to work the school right up to year 11, their oldest cohort is currently in year 8 I believe. Lumiar School UK
