Hi,
Our son is sitting the King’s 7+ assessment shortly and I wondered if any parents who have been through the process in recent years would be willing to share their experience.
I’m not looking for details of the actual questions/papers, but more practical tips about the day itself – what the morning was like, how the children were organised, whether they had proper breaks/snacks, whether they stayed in the classroom during breaks, and anything you wish you had told your child beforehand.
I’d also be really interested in experiences of the next stage, in the hope that he is fortunate enough to be called back. How did you prepare (if at all) for the activity day and interview? What was the activity day atmosphere like, and is there anything that helped your child feel comfortable speaking to unfamiliar adults and taking part in the group activities?
We’re trying to keep the whole thing as low pressure as possible and mainly want him to go in relaxed, listen carefully, concentrate and enjoy the experience.
Any recent experiences or tips would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!
