End of year cards/gifts

My child is in Year 8 and joined half way through the year from a mainstream state to a private school.

it’s tough as a new parent, I don’t have the network of other mums etc.

do kids do end of year cards etc for their tutors or teachers? He has a couple 1-1s who I’d like to get a gift for, but that’s it?

just want to make sure we’re not being rude or odd ones out.

Also, is your answer the same for Christmas?!

Mine is in year 7 at private school and she wrote her teachers a card at Christmas, no gift. We won’t be buying end of term gifts either, there are just too many teachers for it to be feasible.

Both DC wrote cards for their favorite teachers and we as parents planned a joint gifts (stationery sets and personalized desk pad calendars with class' photos). Posh chocolates or tea/coffee sets are usually popular gifts as well.
