Hi, what are your honest opinion on LVS Ascot and ACS Egham schools. We are thinking senior school for our son who is currently in year 4.
He’s fairly average academically — a typical boy his age really, not especially keen on homework and much happier being outdoors. His strengths are definitely more DT, practical and hands-on subjects, which is why both schools caught my eye, especially their DT departments. We’re local and not considering boarding.
We’ll be attending open mornings at both schools next month, but I’d really appreciate hearing from parents with children there.
I also really like the idea of the IB MYP project-based approach at ACS. How do children generally find it compared to a more traditional curriculum?
Are there many local children, so friendships continue outside school and children can meet up at weekends?
What do children typically do during break and lunchtime? Are they allowed to bring small things from home to play with friends during breaks (like Pokemon cards etc)?
