Starting a new thread for those sitting the 7+ exams in Oct 2026 - Jan 2027, for a Sep 2027 start.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Is no one doing the 7+ this year?

@KitKat789 it does seem a tad quiet! lol Perhaps people are still on holiday, I'm sure when we get to September the panic will set in. 😂I know a few people sitting the 7+ this year (I am a teacher). I know that admissions numbers are down across the board (except for WUS it seems!) so that will slightly help your odds!!

I am applying for Kings, St Pauls and Westminster. Hoping the lower admissions numbers apply for Kings and St Pauls! Struggling with creative writing, all the stories end up with a party with pizza, chips and squash.

We’re preparing! My child will be trying for Westminster Under, St Paul’s Juniors and King’s. We’re not feeling very hopeful at the moment though, as we only started preparing two weeks ago.

Hi, has anyone taken the King's 7+ exam today?

Sat the Kings 7+ yesterday. My son didn't finish the maths.

Sorry to hear that. I bet it was really tough! You must be so proud of all he has achieved so far.

My son told me that he skipped some questions in maths as well.

Hi, anyone took WUS exam today? There were so many people! My son was in good mood after the exam but told me it was hard and he didn't finish all the questions

silverbirchsw · 15/10/2026 21:25

Our DS sat King’s on Saturday and now we have the agonising wait - we are likely to hear tomorrow. He found the maths hard; the first section had more questions that he expected and he didn’t finish; also found the reasoning challenging and skipped several questions. Not doing WUS - hope it went well today. Preparing for St Paul’s next month and a few others.

A candidate of mine who got a place last year didn’t finish two of the maths sections

My twins did take the WUS exam today as well! Unfortunately did not get much feedback but they mentioned math was not easy.

LMPG · 15/10/2026 22:29
  1. KCS - has anyone heard back?
  2. WUS - did they not have grammar in their English section today or did DC simply skip the pages? 🤦‍♀️
ChelseaParent · 16/10/2026 02:40

We also sat WUS today, thought maths was easy but run out of time and didn’t finish at least 5 questions. Anyone knows how many were in total?

Does anyone have an idea of what time the emails drop for King's?

clunkyduck · 16/10/2026 10:52

I’d like my son to give the exams next year. How do I tutor him? Where do I start? Thank you

They mentioned "late afternoon" in the email so realistically could be 6pm..

Yikes! That’s a looong afternoon ahead then.

I was hoping the invitations would come out earlier this year, but it looks like the timing will be similar to last year. My friend received the second-round invitation at around 6 pm back then.

SWLondonMum00 · 16/10/2026 14:23

It happened between 5.30 and 6pm last year - close to end of day. I’m sure timed that way so that they can log off for the weekend and not have to entertain lots of calls straight after!

@OrangeEasyPeeler good luck for the others . It’s such a painful process x
