Hello,
Anyone has a child in Prep school at St Hugh's who would like to continue their journey at the new Senior School? I hope to hear your opinion about St Hugh's in overall and its new Senior School please. Love the vibe and the beautiful campus of the small independent school, but not so sure about its academic-wise.
Thank you <3

Hi! We had a place for our son for yr 7 for September this year - he is not currently at the prep school. We loved the school - stunning and really strong academically looking at all the awards being given to current yr 8s for senior schools. We looked round the building site for the new senior area last month and to be honest, I was shocked by how small it was. It felt like they needed to double the footprint of the current building, which they are not doing. I also had concerns that my son would make friends and a lot would leave for the "big hitter" schools in year 9. The extra currics also seemed limited to me compared to other senior schools. Ultimately we decide to choose another school. I do think that St. Hugh's will get the results at GCSE though - they won't risk ruining their reputation.

Thank you for your reply. I was also shocked of how small the senior hub was, and had the same fear of losing friends at year 9 :(

I could imagine one year group in the senior hub but not three. I couldn't see how they would get an office, two classrooms, a hangout area and a dining area in the space that is there. In the end we felt that the pool of children might be just a little too small for our son to find his tribe, especially because he is not particularly sporty.
