Rendcomb college closing?

Has anyone else heard about Rendcomb College near Cirencester closing? The rumours are doing the rounds that they are sending kids to other schools, and parents are removing kids as it’s set to close. Nothing has been announced, and this is such sad news if so. Hoping it is just rumours.

Sad to hear about Rendcomb - we nearly sent DC there. But what concerned me was the large portion of fees that would no doubt be spent propping up a large, old building in need of a lot of work. There's a real point at which a lovely old building is a liability and not an asset. Population also very small - which sometimes is beneficial, but harder with friends and economies of scale. I think small classes in a big school feels safer. And no point in having a bells-and-whistles theatre if the main building is falling apart. A lot of competition locally from grammers, excellent comps and more prestigious privates. I suspect others will follow.

St Eds are definitely ok and stable. Fantastic alternative to Rendcomb as a small school that really cares.

St Eds is spending £3 million on a new Arts Centre. It’s been approved. They also have new astros.
