Honest opinions of St Peter’s School York?

Interested in opinions of all three schools

Highly rated here. Seems to be unpopular in some circles but as an insider I’m not sure why. Caters for all in a nurturing way & gets the best out of the pupils. They are expected to work (& play) hard & if you are looking for short school days & Saturdays off it’s not for you! PM me if you like.

My son went for sixth form and really enjoyed it. We did consider earlier but went to Cundall Manor instead, an amazing school where he did well academically and they have brilliant sport, music etc and much smaller so we thought more inclusive. We didnt go when he was younger as didn't want Saturday school and trying to get into York every day from where we lived was a nightmare. When he was older he could go on the train. I would go and have a look at a few different options. They all offer something different.

Excellent school, good for sporty children especially. It’s quite a tough school, so not so good for quite shy and timid children in my opinion.

Not had children there, have friends whose kids went there, my own kids played matches against them and as a teacher I have often taken students to various things there.
Always seemed like a really lovely school, atmosphere good ( which I set a fair bit of store on). All the kids I know who went there did well and enjoyed it, they weren’t all sporty.
only downside is that they don’t ( certainly didn’t used to) run a school bus service, either train it and walk in, parent taxi or board.
