We are mulling over which of these two schools might be the best for our little boy. I'd be most grateful for people's views on a) academics b) prep for senior school exams and c) extra curricular activites. Many thanks in advance.

These two schools are both pretty good for all of a,b,c

They are about 13 miles apart - which one do you live closer to? - that should also be a key consideration

We are about 10 minutes from Manor Lodge and 25 minutes from Lockers Park. Manor Lodge is better from a logistics perspective.

What sort of schools are you thinking of at 11+ or 13+. If boarding is on the agenda then Lockers goes to 13 so a more obvious choice. If it’s a day school or grammar then both work.

We had quite a negative misogynistic experience with Lockers Park a few years ago at a match. The head did seem to deal with it quite well, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

My son went to Lockers for 5 years, just recently left in July, Amazing school with incredible memories made. (eg Dark Towers - Lockers that looks like Hogwarts, is in the pitch black and the teachers hunt for the boys with torches in the grounds) They teach boys to be young gentlemen with manners, politeness and well educated. I wish my son could have stayed till 18!
He struggled to start with as he was badly picked on at another prep school but Lockers soon changed this and he excelled. The teachers are excellent and if you want your son to excel he can at Lockers. A few of my son's friends have now started at Eton, Harrow, Merchant Taylor, Rugby, St Albans, Stowe, Bloxham etc. Yes there is plenty of prep for senior school exams especially if you want to get into the above. Lockers have now partnered with Harrow so I expect you will get into Harrow easier. After school clubs plenty to choose from, sports to chess to martial arts. 100% recommend Lockers. I hope this helps.
