Just come across some very negative news about Whitgift , that put me off from a dream school to serious worry. Details like a teacher has to be present in boys changing room and shower are shocking. Also, they seem to experience serious financial problems? Any existing parents can share true opinions on these news?

I have a boy in Whitgift and think it is an amazing school. It has exceeded all our expectations. We are very happy with the learning, the organisation, the teachers' dedication, the pastoral care and the community. They offer the boys so many sports and extra curricular activities. They organise so many interesting educational activities that I end up copying them for the rest of the family. My son and his friends are so happy. We were worried about Croydon but no problems so far (fingers crossed). I guess we hear about kids getting mugged for their iphones all over London. In my view, this is one of the best schools in terms of opportunities for all the kids (whether academic, sporty, talented in music or drama or a kid that wants a rounded education). I can only speak about 2025 and my own experience.

I have a good friend with 2 boys there. She’s very happy (and the boys are brilliant and happy too). That article is full of speculation and thin on facts.

The only family I know with a son there absolutely rave about it. I have to admit though, I'm not wild about the family so that actually puts me off somewhat! Grin

DS was at Whitgift all through senior school - left a couple of years ago.

It was a great school imo. Not many as good as that. Very impressed with their pastoral care, and we never had any safety concerns at all.
