Hi all - looking for any advice/first hand experience please.
My daughter is applying to Christ’s Hospital Sixth Form and she’s been invited to sit the admissions test. I’ve read that they only select a few for interview and we’ve been told candidates will fill in a “pupil profile” on the day. My DD is very confident at interviews, so that part should be fine - but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through this.
A few specific questions:
- How hard is the admissions test? What’s actually on it (subjects, question types, timings)?
- What is the test experience like on the day (length of day, logisitics, any assessments besides the written test)?
- Do they really only pick a small number for interview? If so, how selective is it -- what seems to make a candidate stand out?
- What exactly is a “pupil profile”? I gather it’s something you fill in on the day - is it a short form about interests/grades/activities, or something more involved? Any tips on how to complete it well?
- Any practical tips for the day (what to bring, what to expect, how formal it is, do they test for specific subjects, how to prepare without overdoing it)?
If anyone’s daughter/son has been through Christ’s Hospital Sixth Form admissions recently, I’d be really grateful for your experience - what worked, what surprised you, and any do/don’ts. Thank you!
