Tax free childcare - until nursery or reception? (Private school)

I can’t seem to find a certain answer for this.

I know I can claim the government 15 hours for 3-4 year olds until the summer term of reception towards his school fees My son is February born and currently in the school’s nursery.

However, is it the same timings for the tax free childcare allowance too? Or does that not apply to reception despite being 4 still for part of it.

TFC goes up to 11.

@Nickyknackeredbut it’s unclear if this can be used towards school fees or just wraparound care.

Sorry I’ll rephrase. I know it can’t be used for school fees. But if compulsory school age is 5, can it be used whilst the child is still 4?

It's up to the school what methods of payment they accept. It wull depend on their invoicing breakdown. It's for childcare not education.

That's a question for the individual school. Some will accept, some won't. Its allowed for 4 year old of course, but as ive said, will depend on the school and how they offer this.
