St Catherine’s Bramley & Bullying

Hello
We are looking at this school for Yr 7 entry. I have seen some old threads about bullying at St Catherine’s, and wondered if this is dated and no longer the case.
I’d be interested to hear current viewpoints, as is my favourite school we have visited.
thanks

Bullying will and does take place anywhere. And many forms, sadly.

The important thing is understanding how it’s handled by the school. Ask to see their policy. Make sure it covers cyber bullying In detail as a lot of that will happen Out of school hours and it’s important to know what they will do.

I don’t have a child there, but I’m well aware of the school and live fairly locally

Thanks, yes bullying does happen everywhere. However, the threads from a few years back, shows it as rife and poorly managed. Good tip re cyber. Thanks

Im sure there is bullying in all schools but it’s not been a problem for my daughter in the four years she has been there and she’s not reported bullying of others. Has a lovely group of friends. I’m excited by the new head, I think the school is ready for a change and a bit of new blood.

My dd has been at St Cats for 7 years and I think it’s ‘bullying’ reputation is out of date. We’ve found the pastoral care to be very good. The school deliberately mix the girls up 1) within in their year group and 2) also in their houses, (which span all ages) and in my opinion this helps encourage healthy relationships among the girls.
It’s a fantastic school which has given dd a strong foundation for her future. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks everyone, I’m really glad that’s the case.

My daughter is registered and I am hoping she enjoys her experience morning in October.
