Hi - hoping someone can help 11yo DD is sitting Brighton Entrance and ISEB pre tests this autumn for entrance at 13 to senior school. We've been doing Atom for ISEB. It's the additional Brighton maths and English papers that have us stumped. In particular can anyone advise on the English paper? Is it one creative writing task? A passage, some comprehension and then an extended writing bit...? Any advice would be very welcome.

My DS sat the Brighton 13+ pre-tests this past year and was offered a place. He said the English was comprehension and creative writing, and the maths paper he said was the hardest maths paper he sat across the various schools he wrote for. He really enjoyed the interviews and group tasks and the day overall. I think doing the had copy ISEB English and maths papers is good practise as well as the various papers you can download online from exam paper plus and the kings Wimbledon English practise papers are good prep too (on their website). Good luck with it all - we are now gearing up for my next DS who is going into year 5 and trying to find the energy to do it all again!!
