I’ve just paid for LOs termly return school bus journey. It’s a 50 min trip one way and she takes the bus 5 days a week. We pay £2500 for three terms. I’m curious to know how much other schools charge.

My DC were at state school but travelled on a private bus. It was just under £1000 for the year last year, 20 miles each way.

It was £2100 per year at our school for a 50 minute bus ride. I thought it was too much.

Ours is £1000 a term.

DS indie school bus is I think £540 a term, has gone up from £500 last year. It’s a 50-60 minute drive in a minibus. Expensive but although public transport would be cheaper and he’d have an extra 30 minutes commute each way I think.

Dd at state 6th form costs £6 return on public transport each day, she’s only in 4 days a week and there seems to be at least another 5 days a term when she works from home for various reasons (strikes, open days, staff sickness etc) so cheaper to buy day tickets than annual pass which is £950 a year.

I used to pay around £700 per year for a journey that took 40 minutes each way over 20 years ago, so I don’t think that sounds too unreasonable.

Last year was £495 a term for a 20 mile journey, haven't had the bill yet for this coming term.

We pay 1k per year for 3.5 miles return journey, we both work and it makes life easier.
