Does anyone have any experience of these schools? I was planning on sending my DD to Barlborough Hall but given the sad news we are looking at other options. She is nearly 3 so we have a while - but would consider sending her to the nursery if we think its a good option so she meets her future class mates.

Thanks so much in advance! Don't know anyone in real life whose kids go there (most of my friends are sending their kids to state due to good state options where they live).

i used to live near there and one of my friends sent her son. She says the sporting facilities are great but has been unimpressed with the academics (son is v bright) and is considering a different secondary.

Thanks for your reply that's interesting. The academics don't look as good as Sheffield Girls for sure (another one we are considering).

Worksop College used to be known as a school where well off farmers sent their sons. I don't know if it still is, but it certainly used to be strong for cricket e.g. Joe Root, Samit Patel went there. I know a few ex-pupils and some are bright, but I wouldn't say it was known for its strong academics.
