Beware of working at Alleyn’s School if you are black or ethnic minority. I worked on Reception for 5 years and was treated badly because of my race. A blonde girl asked me to lunch and I declined, so she felt it gave her the right to harass me and turn others against me.
The politics here are so severe that you will lose your mind. The bullying started with me before the ink on my contract had dried.
Two girls (a blonde and an Iranian girl) would call me to invite me to lunch only to ignore me as soon as we left the Reception area. They did this for around a year and found it funny. They would also crowd around me at the desk and block it with trivial matters. When I finally shouted the blonde girl cried and made herself out to be the victim. My line manager used coded words to give them permission to attack me and that’s why they were so brazen with the abuse.
keep out if you can as I have much PTSD and depression as a result of working here despite working with my agency for many years and studying in various institutions without issue
