We've had 2 kids go to EC. I can honestly say that it's a waste of money. One of our kids left EC and went to Beaucamp (a FREE school) and we think the level of education is if anything better...and certainly no worse.

Another of of our kids left EC and went to Blanchlande, which is a paid school. But the level of education at Blanchlande is substantially better than that found at EC.

In short, I can not recommend EC.

A level results for 2026

UK Independent School Average: 48.5% of entries awarded A* or A grades.

Elizabeth college: 28% of entries awarded A* or A grades.

UK state school average: 25.4% of entries awarded A* or A grades.

Guernsey state school (6th form college): 23% of entries awarded A* or A grades.

I don’t think anyone can argue that Elizabeth college is value added for £16,000 a year.

it’s wedged into some tarmac at the edge of a busy road. It has a rugby/football pitch 15 minutes away which is a bog. The children’s training is regularly cancelled in winter as they cannot afford drainage.

there are no tennis courts, squash courts, no swimming pool. What campus qualities are you talking about? The crumbling main building?

I assume they are talking about the new Perrot Court building.

The overall pass rates for the two schools at A-level was 100% for EC and 98.9% for Sixth form. A tiny difference really.

Is it worth the 112k on fees alone that it costs to put a child through EC?

no, which is why every year anyone who can afford boarding fees goes to the Uk.

there was loads of them went from EC this September to the UK for 6th form. And a handful for year 9. Suspect most can’t afford year 9 so save for 6th form.
