Labour's VAT policy - any reversal pledge

There is significant opposition to the policy, especially from Conservative and Reform UK figures, but has there been an outright pledge to undo it by any party?

Yes Tories and Reform have openly said they would reverse it. Lib Dems oppose it but haven't said they would reverse it.

Thank you. Did they explicitly pledge to reverse it? If you could share me a link that would be really great. I've googled and couldn't find the 'pledge', all I can see seem to be just their opposing opinions.

Thank you. Clearly I need to work on googling! So, a light end of the tunnel for me perhaps.

Whether they reverse it or not the policy will have had irreparable impact.

The court case will happen before the next election.

Sadly very true. The damage is happening now!

Caps44 · 01/03/2025 21:29

Conservative leader has said she will reverse it. Labour won’t be in power at the next election, even a coalition between Reform and Tories will see it reversed. Damage has been done, however, we will have 7 more years of education to go through, so 20% releif will be great,

I think the damage will well and truly be done sadly by then.

I don't know how many schools are struggling, but it's going to hit the preps hardest first, which are feeders. In 4 years time will be a different landscape.

I think you can check companies house to see net assets and liabilities to ascertain their situations.
