School holidays and annual leave

How does everyone divide up their annual leave entitlements - do you tend to use up a high portion of your annual leave on one big holiday or have these evenly split?

Last year we went away for a few days for Feb half term, 2 weeks in Easter, 1 day for May, 2 weeks in July, few days in oct and Christmas. And I had bought 5 extra days leave. Trying to plan out this year and was curious on what others did

Ooh, I’m due to go back to work soon and I was wondering the same. DS has ridiculously long holidays and he’s too old for holiday clubs, but not old enough to be left for the full breaks. It’s killing me trying to figure it out!

I try and spread it out. We travel a fair bit but I utilise bank holidays etc to do so, or will add in days we're away when DS can do a kids club and I'll work from the hotel.

Then any weeks we're 'home' I'll try and do 1x days AL, 1x day where I WFH and DS watches TV/plays, 1x day with friends (I alternate childcare with other parents and will have their kids on days I'm on AL) and 2x days holiday club. It requires a complex spreadsheet and everything gets planned a year in advance, but it works!

Following as we'll be into school holidays this year and not looking forward to it!
Assume we'll focus shared leave and holidays for weeks the state schools aren't off to take advantage there, then split the rest before looking at how to cover the rest - its a lot!
