Mill hill (Belmont) or St Albans

Would we mad to go for a scholarship place at Mill Hill Belmont instead of potentially an ordinary place at St Albans boys?

Thoughts appreciated as I’m going slightly bonkers weighing up the pros and cons

Hello. I can't respond re St Alban's but I have had two children go through Belmont & Mill Hill and I honestly don't have a bad word to say about either. Extremely different children with different interests, strengths and weaknesses and both have absolutely thrived in every possible way.

Thank you so much @YogiBear19 for the reply. I really love Belmont but academically St Albans is higher up the leagues though really I don’t think this is everything

Can I ask please what the behaviour is like? And if there is any disruption in lessons? Are the academic kids stretched? Thank you so much for your help

Behaviour is good. Never heard of any particular problems or disruption. In many ways it's like a big family. Kindness and community is central. Academically I personally chose it at an age where I didn't know how my children would be and am personally not keen on pushy. My personal belief is they will thrive where they are happy. And thrive they did. My eldest is now at a top university and my youngest is following close behind. They seem to really get the best out of each individual.

Thank you @YogiBear19 this is really lovely to hear. Can I ask as there is some negative feedback on here about teaching being disorganised and also on the inspection report it says feedback isn’t always given, have you experienced poor teaching?
