Don’t have kids there but have friends who do. Their children are happy at the school, but bluntly, it doesn’t have the best academic reputation- results and teaching are not great. It is known as a place for kids whose parents wanted them to go to a private school but didn’t make it through to the more competitive ones like Highgate or NLCS…

Post GCSE, a lot of students move for A-levels to other sixth forms, either private or state (when excellent options like Woodhouse or Camden become more widely available). Hope this helps.

Thank you all, your comment does help. Can I ask if you had a choice between a comprehensive with rough kids its a strict school so they are controlled or Mill hill, which would you go for?

What do you mean by ‘rough kids’? Most London comps will have a broad intake and the challenges (and benefits!) that goes with that - best to see a few different schools and get a feel for them and what is right for your own child. Look at results and consider if 30k-ish a year feels worth it to you. My kids are in private but there are state schools I would choose above Mill Hill - and if I was doing it all again (knowing how astronomical the fees would become), I’d be trying for one of the good grammars…

Mill Hill County is a great school if that’s the comprehensive you are referring to.
