Hi, I have a child who has started reception in St Michael’s prep and so far I am not very satisfied. I didn’t like the nursery there as it offered very little in terms of activity. I felt they were just focused on sending kids out to play all day so they don’t have to do too much. I found Radnor House nursery was amazing where they offered forest school, French and swimming all as a part of the package. None of this is offered at st Micheals nursery or kindergarten. But Radnor house were going through a lot of changes with the head teacher leaving and a few other good staff who left so I settled on St Michael’s going forwards but I feel I’ve made a mistake taking my child out of Radnor house.
At St Michael’s they only do forest school for reception children. Year one get a few session and it’s none existent for year 2 and above. What is that all about when your are charging an extortionate fee? They offer that at state school as well.
Im also not very satisfied with the teaching. I agree it’s not an academic hothouse but I would expect some kind of return if I am aiming to sit my child for the 11 plus 6 years down the line.
I want to know how have other peoples experience been? Am I being too picky or are my reasons justified for me to start looking into another school? Which school would you recommend?
