DSs teacher is the sweetest woman ever and I want to get her something really nice!

Only have £10-£15.

I've never known teachers to compare gifts in that way, why would they? I've shown other teachers the lovely comments/memory book my Y6 class made me a couple of years ago and another teacher showed us the earrings a child made her but it was as friends, not as a showy-off/competitive thing.

M&S have some lovely but very well priced necklaces and bracelets if she wears them. We've done Thorntons, Lush, flowers (where I know teacher is not going on hols straight away) etc in the past.

As for teachers comparing gifts - not in a showy off way, but if we'd been given something particularly 'unique' - either something lovely or something awful - we'd perhaps show that in the staffroom to our colleagues.

My worst was a pair of size 9 men's slippers and a bottle of Harvey's Bristol Cream, bth wrapped in Christmas paper. I have a feeling that grandad didn't make it to Christmas day and the kiddy decided to reuse the gifts for me...
