Holidays in term time rule change?

Our school told us yesterday that the 10 day authorised absence policy is changing, and that all term-time absences will now be unauthorised. Is this a general government policy or just our school?

For the school or authority. The local authority I work in refuses to approve any term time holidays and all are recorded as unauthorised absences. Although, this decision is down to the governers.
