IQ Tests for children or Intelligence

Please can anyone shed some light on the sort of IQ testing used for 5year olds both at state or independant schools?

DS had his IQ tested using verbal and non verbal reasoning tests. You can buy practise test papers fro Amazon - bond assessments I think they are called

We are in an 11+ area and from Y3 onwards the children are given an annual verbal reasoning and non verbasl reasoning test.
