Guided reading. Can anyone think of a good reason that

...my ds's guided reading group, who are the most able in Year 4, should be reading The 100 Mile an Hour Dog?

I'm happy with the school, the differentiation of the work and the teacher - so there MUST be a reason why they've gone from Michael Morpurgo to Jeremy Strong - just can't think what it might be!

It's a unit in the National Literacy Strategy so perhaps the school is following that.
