phonics in reception

Just wondered what stage of phonics you would expect your dc in reception to be on by end of term.

Dont know what level it is classed as, but I think they are expected to know all 43 (?) sounds, which includes things like "ou", "or", "ie", "ue" etc.

If the school uses the governments Letter & Sounds programme children are expected to cover phases 1-4 in reception phase 5 in Y1 phase 6 in Y2.

DS's clas have covered Phase 3 and 4 during the year. He covered phase 2 in Nursery last year.

I work in a Y1 class in a school with a very varied background. We have children working in Phases 2 to 6.
