Hi, I am thinking to move to one of these areas mainly because of ds who is now 2. Which area are better for schools and as a place to live? we went to both and look ok, but have not found our dream house yet so thought that we need to decide on the area first and then look for houses/schools...Any suggestions?

I'm thinking of moving there too - north kingston (for the schools) or teddington or surrounds - from Stoke Newington. Do you gals go out in London at all or is transport a massive obstacle? I'm worried about being able to keep some sort of social life resembling my current one if I move out of town/further out of town. I can cut my days in the office (liverpool st area) to 2-3 days so commuting wouldn't have to be constant. Main reason for moving is I'm sick of hackney and inner city life in need of fresh air and space around me and a bit of quiet. Plus ds (4) didn't get into any of the good local schools..

Waterloo in 25 mins from New Malden- I can get to Liverpool St in 50 mins from New Malden.

Cn also confirm the wonderfulness of Latchmere, all three of mine went/still are there. DD now at Grey Court and doing really well so don't despair about the lack of secondaries. For Teddington I think the only Kingston school with the link to it is St Pauls?

All, thanks for your responses, very helpful. I think we'll start from North Kingston but might consider moving a few years later to Teddington. Why it would be difficult to get into secondary there?
